What we do

IT Consulting

A vendor-independent roadmap for your technology investments, built around your business.

What we do

Base technology decisions on data, not on a sales representative

Most technology decisions are made on the recommendation of the company selling the product. The result is usually a server larger than needed, unused licences and systems that do not talk to each other. IT consulting lets you make those decisions according to what your business really needs.

At Pixron® we first look at what you have: which software is in use, where the data sits, whether backups are taken, what knowledge leaves with a person if they resign. Once that picture is clear we present a prioritised roadmap of what should change, what should stay and where to invest.

We are not tied to the sale of any product or brand. Sometimes our recommendation is to buy a new system, sometimes to use what you have properly.

What do we advise on?

You can take an opinion on a single topic or a roadmap for your whole infrastructure.

Infrastructure and cloud

Selection, sizing and migration planning for servers, networks, hosting and cloud services.

Software selection and digital transformation

Analysis of business processes, the packaged-versus-custom decision and supplier evaluation.

Security and continuity

Backups, access management, technical measures for data protection compliance and a disaster recovery plan.

When is IT consulting needed?

The six situations in which companies most often come to us.

You are growing and the systems cannot keep up

What works well with five people jams at fifty. You need to determine which system must change and which must scale.

You are about to buy new software

Choosing ERP, CRM or accounting software is a decision you live with for years. Made without a needs analysis, it becomes expensive.

You want to move to the cloud

Which system moves to the cloud, which stays on site and how to migrate without interruption all require planning.

You have lost data or fear you will

If backups, access rights and disaster scenarios are not settled, a single failure or ransomware attack can stop your business.

Your IT spending keeps rising

Unused licences, oversized servers and overlapping subscriptions are a significant area of saving in most companies.

Everything is in one person's head

If passwords, setups and procedures are not written down, institutional memory leaves when that person does.

Consulting deliverables

At the end you hold actionable documents, not opinions.

Current state report

An inventory of hardware, software, licences, data and backups, with the risks identified.

Prioritised roadmap

What must be done now, medium-term improvements and long-term investments, with estimated budgets.

Supplier and product comparison

An impartial comparison of the options that fit your needs, with a reasoned recommendation.

Security and backup plan

Who accesses what, what is backed up how often, and which steps to follow in a failure.

Documentation

System diagrams, access and setup details written down so they stay within your organisation.

Implementation support

If you wish, project management and technical support for carrying out the roadmap.

Consulting process

The scope is clear from the start; consulting is not an open-ended service.

  1. Initial meeting

We listen to your problem and goal and set the scope and duration of the engagement.

  2. Review

We examine your systems, contracts and workflows and talk to the people involved.

  3. Analysis and report

We bring findings, risks and savings opportunities together in a clear report.

  4. Roadmap presentation

We present the recommendations to your management with priority, budget and schedule and answer questions.

  5. Implementation

We carry out the steps you decide on, or guide your team, as you prefer.

Is IT consulting only for large companies?

No. Small and medium-sized businesses without their own IT team benefit most, because they have no impartial person to consult on technology decisions.

How long does consulting take?

A single-topic assessment is completed in a few days, a roadmap covering the whole infrastructure in a few weeks. The duration is set at the initial meeting.

Do you recommend a particular brand?

No. We are not tied to any manufacturer's sales. Where we recommend our own hosting service we say so openly and present it alongside alternatives.

Do you implement the recommendations?

If you wish, yes. You can carry out the roadmap with your own team, another supplier or with us; the report stays with you in every case.

Do you support data protection compliance?

On technical measures, yes: access management, backups, encryption and logging. For legal texts and processes we recommend working with a legal adviser.
